Mission Completed: Marriage A-la-Mode

To anyone who might be interested: my second feature film, Marriage A-la-Mode, is officially completed as of March 2026. You won’t be able to see it just yet, as I first need to explore collaborations with festivals, distributors, and broadcasters, depending on the circumstances or offers. And sure, if the cultural elite of our time ignore me, then I will look at self-distribution options.

But if you can’t see the film right now, why am I announcing its completion? Because I want to break this closed-door secrecy. I won’t make this mistake again: I refuse to be like filmmakers who manipulate dates for better opportunities and actually damage their film’s historical context (I don’t know if anyone besides me still cares about this nowadays). So, no matter when it’s released, I am proudly making a note in history: this film is done, and just finishing it is already my greatest achievement.

I completely self-financed this project. I took no support from anyone outside our core crew. I didn’t even bother applying for available and, in fact, highly attainable funds to avoid the market and institutional expectations (and the self-censorship effects that come with them). I passed that freedom directly on to our cast and crew, and I believe it resulted in an uncompromising (even un-fuck-with-able) film. I will write a longer reflection later in the films section. For now, I need a break: I will rest a bit and eat a lot to regain the weight I lost, then I will continue creating, which is the whole point of it all.
